'Who you are speaks so loudly, I can't hear a word you're saying' - Ralph W Emerson

Being an entrepreneur is about dreaming of things that never were and finding ways to bring those ideas to life.
Having a vision for yourself and your business is key to making sure you stay on track, stay motivated and dedicated to your endeavours. Without purpose in what you do, it becomes challenging to get through the hard days. Those start-up days where you ask yourself 'WHY am I doing this!? No sane person gives up a secure job to go out and work longer hours for less money! What am I doing?'. You know the days!

When you have a greater sense of purpose about what you do, those days don't seem so bad.
If you look at some of the most successful people of our time and even throughout history, they all held a vision for their life. A guiding star if you will. Something outside of themselves that guides their way.

In Unwritten by Jack Delosa, he explains 'Creating a vision for your life and your life's work ensures that everything you do aligns to your purpose, giving your life's work a direction and meaning that fuels you along the journey.'

Everyone's sense of purpose is different. Your sense of purpose might be your children, they might be your guiding star. It might be a sense of recognition like Steve Jobs who's vision was 'To make a dent in the Universe'. It might be a sense of contribution such as Oprah Winfrey's vision for her life 'To elevate the consciousness of humanity'.
They vision I hold for myself that leads me and guides me through life and business is 'To enable greatness through creativity'.

Reflect on the following questions to gain a better understanding of the vision you hold for your life:

What drives you? What are you good at? What change would you love to see in the world or be in the world? What do you want your life to be about?

If you ever feel down, just remember why you do what you do. This sound helps me remember my why and gets me motivated, I hope it will do the same for you:
